The three types of mattresses

A wealth of information is now at your fingertips on the many types of air mattresses.

Firm mattress
A firm mattress is quilted with the foam stitched in a tighter pattern than on a plush model. This makes the top of the mattress feel firmer, even if it does have several layers of cushion. This is recommended for anyone that likes the feel of a firmer mattress.

Plush or Pillow soft
A plush or pillow soft mattress is quilted with the foam stitched in a wide pattern. A plush bed usually has more foam than a firm mattress, often having as much as a pillow top. By quilting the foam in an open pattern, the mattress feels softer on top than a firm mattress, even though the support stays the same. This type of bed is recommended for those that want a medium feel without moving to a pillow top mattress.

Pillow top
The pillow top mattress is quilted with the foam attached to the mattress in a featherbed type design. The pillow top design allows the foam to conform to your body more while sleeping, while still providing firm support. The pillow top is attached to both sides of the mattress and is as durable as the other styles. In the last few years, pillowtops have become the best selling mattresses. They provide more cushion than the firm or plush models and give the mattress a very comfortable feel, without losing any support. This type of mattress is recommended for those that want a medium feel to their mattress.
